This Yamaha XJ650 Midnight Maxim purchased from a chap in Stoke on Trent for £200 is begging to be restored, so I guess I'll have to oblige! when I've got some time. The Midnight Maxim motorbikes a 1983 model and I will be adding photos of the Yamaha motorbike as she is being restored! Currently my Maxim is resting in the kitchen awaiting inspiration as to why the starter motor dosn't start her!
After buying a brand new battery and checking over the electrics my Maxim is still not on the road! A starter motor is probably needed but buying a starter motor seems an impossible task!

This lovely old Yamaha XT500 once resided in England, it was taken across to Crete where it was promptly possessed by the local Customs the Zoll office who re-plated it with Greek number plates and sold it to an English Yamaha XT500 fanatic!

I bought my Yamaha Maxim 700 custom bike from an old boy who, after a heart attack, decided to retire from motorcycling in 2003 for the princely sum of £750 the Yamaha ran sweet, was roadworthy but was a bit tatty here and there, so after a couple of nice summers riding her I decided it was time to tart the old girl up a bit I had no mechanical problems with her so apart from a fuel problem, which was sorted by a good friend, I had no rebuilding to do, just the cosmetics to sort out which after being let down by a man who said he would spray all the bits for me I set about myself with the dreaded aerosol cans then, after a couple of minor hiccups,and loads of elbow grease t-cut and polish you can see the results for yourself! I have made quite a few modifications the the bike to suit my own taste how I like my own motorbike to be, because of the rarity of the Yamaha Maxim bike, I've been careful to keep all the original parts as spares so that it can quite easily be restored to standard Maxim bike trim pre customised condition. I have recently purchased a Yamaha XJ650 Midnight Maxim, a rather special motorbike that's begging to be restored! See this motorbike as she is now down the page.
Although my ultimate dream has always been a Harley Davidson, a Harley bike has always been a tad too expensive for me... but maybe one day I will own a Harley Davidson motorbike! Always on the search for a customised Harley to renovate!
