This is where I live and every year my little town has a lock up your daughters bike extravaganza the locals call it.
Thousands of motorcycles swap meet and show and sales GREAT TIME for all us bikers.
OHHHHHHHH you are in Bulgaria???
I thought this was a British site, Bulgaria is a place I know nothing about, it's Sunny there? COOL, freezing cold and cloudy here in Pennsylvania (USA).
Is Bulgaria where Vlad the Impailer from (Vlad Tepes) or some call Dracula? or was he from Romania?
Anyway can't wait to see what you do on the info. and photos I sent, let me know when you publish it.
Love from the USA.............
Very honoured to see that my ole 82 XJ Maxim made it on your site, I was truly surprised to see it here.
I can give you some history of this bike and my riding, let me start off by telling you I never have even sat on a motorcycle two years ago and at my age 60 everyone including me dear wife was against the idea (they all called me a crazy old man trying to relive his childhood) little did they realize that all my life I wanted a bike but never had the time, money or the courage to start what would be the biggest change in my life!
(I AM HOOKED FOR THE LITTLE REMAINNING TIME LEFT ON GODS GREEN EARTH) I NOW KNOW THE MEANING "live to Ride and Ride to live"
The best part of it all is the people.
I have found my home among (Bikers) and guess what? My wife that was totally against it (she's now my Biker Babe)
We go off riding as much as we BOTH can. I ride to work I ride when there's no where to even go (I just ride) the temperature changes, the smells, the sites, the wind are always a blessing.
It's pure freedom and I'm sure you and your readers feel the same.
The history of this bike is not especially interesting but around two years ago while working at my job a co-worker asked if I wanted to take a look at a friends Yamaha he was selling because his wife said if he wanted a new Harley that he would have to sell the Maxim so when he brought it to my workplace for me to see it was LOVE at first site and I then wondered if I could afford it......he wanted $500.00 and that was about all I had so BINGO I bought it.
I'll add some photos in order from when I got the bike in its sad condition corrosion and all, all that's needed was elbow grease and a little time here and there to get her back in shape but seems I'm always finding something to improve on and tinker with.
The next project is a hydraulic forward brake control for rear drum system, so I'll first take measurements and make a blueprint, then get on the Lathe and milling machine and getter done hopefully I'll have the prototype before the spring thaw.
The front of the bike is from a XJ750, the fender chopped and the tire a Dunlop 404's.
I reconditioned everything down to the last screw, added Chris products signals, a 60's style banana seat, extra LED stop signal above the rear tail light, Iridium spark plugs, XJ700 handlebars and master cylinder, XJ700 rear shocks, individual carb air cleaners, drilled out mufflers, rejetted carbs, sponge hand grips,XV1100 brake lines, brand new speedo benzel, new mirrors, drilled out brake rotors, blue dot rear tail light, glass beaded exhaust pipes painted with 1300 degree black satin paint, new stainless socket head screws anywhere I found a place to replace them, longer stainless steel exhaust pipe flange nuts, SECA oil cooler from a 750, also made a inspection sticker plate mounted on ride side rear bolted to one on the axle bolts, dumped the breather pipe for a tiny air cleaner, new tank emblems, rebuilt petcock and starter,
I am probably missing some things but what the hell I've mentioned enough I guess!
Also I am going to make a dual Harley drag pipes left side of bike set-up am bending the pipes that move the headers to that side as we speak at the shop, that should sound great (I hope...LOL)
Also have a complete front end from an XJ700 but it will have to lose 2 and 1/2 inches on the tubes I have plans fitting it on this summer.
I guess I'll be busy for a while, call me Mr. Tinker Man.
